Accepting your uniqueness is a form of power,
Embracing your sensitivity is a gesture of respect,
Being aware of your evolution is a sign of growth,
Loving your flaws is proof of maturity,
Believing in the unseen is a gesture of flexibility,
Guiding yourself by intuition and inner strength is a matter of courage and authenticity.
Jewelry is an extension of who we are—intimate, symbolic, and constantly evolving. As we grow, the objects we choose to wear should reflect awareness, authenticity, and meaning. VIKA TONU is created for those who search beyond the visible, valuing originality, depth, and conscious self-expression.
Inspired by spirituality, mysticism, symbolism, and personal development, each piece is designed as jewelry with meaning. By peeling concepts layer by layer and reducing them to their essence, minimalism emerges naturally—as a clear, honest form of expression.
My creative approach is shaped by a foundation in Interdisciplinary Art and Design from the University of Huddersfield, followed by specialization in contemporary jewelry at the Alchimia School of Contemporary Jewelry in Florence, alongside formal training at the Romanian Gemological Center. This layered education allows me to move freely between artistic research and technical precision, choosing materials and processes with intention and care.
I am honored to have the VIKA TONU brand included in the Homo Faber Guide, curated by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, which recognizes excellence in European artisanal practices. Founded in 2013, VIKA TONU has evolved organically and has been presented internationally at Milano Design Week, London Fashion Week, Vienna Design Week, Romanian Design Week, Romanian Jewelry Week, and Moldovan Design Week, as well as in numerous galleries and concept stores across Europe.
Collaboration lies at the heart of my practice. I have worked with ceramic artists, fashion designers, multimedia practitioners, and art photographers, creating cross-disciplinary collections that live beyond the object itself and can be discovered in my portfolio. Through these dialogues, jewelry becomes a bridge—expanding beyond adornment into wider cultural, artistic, and narrative spaces.
My latest collaboration, From Waste to Jewel, reflects this ongoing exploration. Developed in partnership and produced in Portugal using innovative recycled and sustainable materials, the collection was awarded a European WORTH Partnership Programme grant and presented at Milano Design Week 2025. It marks a conscious step toward integrating jewelry into broader conversations around material innovation, responsibility, and future-oriented design.
